Hello Blog
I am slowly surfacing again, joining the living again after spending the entire year in a (umm) timely-challenged project. Or is that scopely-challenged? Or just unrealistic deadlines for the given scope? Well, either way, it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s now live!
What is it? Well, my team and I built a completely new eCommerce platform for Dow Jones. It supports subscription-based products and the entire lifecycle management of these products — from purchase to renewals and cancellations. The entire solution is meant to scale up to as many subscription-based products as they can imagine and the tech work itself was quite a lot of fun. You don’t get to build a JBoss jBPM-based subscription lifecycle engine without any user front-end every day of the week, and customizing the ATG Commerce engine for subscription-products is also a little bit out of the ordinary.
So there it is, live, you can now buy subscriptions to the Wall Street Journal Mobile Edition directly through the platform.
Oh, and if you already have a print and digital subscription you get the mobile access for free anyways. That legacy migration took four days to run, so enjoy your access if you have it. If not, there’s also the web-version on which you can buy it. :-)
